Steamboat captain pursues stowaway on Saco River voyage

In 1895 Captain W A Roberts confronts a wharf rat stowaway, Don Minnehan, on the Forest Queen near Saco. Minnehan leaps free as Roberts grabs his trousers, plunging into the river and making for Peak’s Island while the steamer sails toward Portland.

Murphy reinstated as call fireman after appeal ruling
