Design: From primitive cup to mass produced goods
Industrial designer Henry Dreyfuss explains that utility guides product design while safety, convenience, cost and appearance also matter. He notes his work across telephones, printing presses, household appliances, aircraft interiors and a six year farm tractor project. He emphasizes that design succeeds when people are safer, more efficient, more comfortable or happier through contact with the product.
