Jack Moulton brought a white bulldog named Scot to Thornton Academy in 1898. The dog acted as a sideline favorite, bit balls, and even deflated two footballs with his jaws. After Moulton left, the dog vanished and a dognapping trial ensued, but the court dismissed the case for lack of proof of ownership.
