Mother Is Acquitted Of Manslaughter In Death
Deborah H. Ford of Lebanon was found not guilty by a Superior Court jury after two hours and forty minutes deliberation. Ford testified she slapped her 11 day old son Todd during a feeding as he stiffened and turned pale, while a defense neurologist suggested a seizure could have caused the injury. A medical witness said the baby bore bruises and died of a massive brain hemorrhage that could result from a slap.
