House Deletes Funds For Dickey Project In Maine
The House approved a 4.5 billion public works bill but cut 671000 in planning funds for the Dickey-Lincoln hydroelectric project on the upper St John River in Maine. Rep Giaimo moved the cut. Maine Rep Hathaway defended the project citing jobs and lower rates. Maine Gov Curtis called the cut a setback and said efforts to save Dickey would continue.
