Beach Man Killed in Cascade Road Pedestrian Crash

Ralph Woodman 79 of Cascade Road was killed when struck by a car driven by Winford Coreau on Cascade Road in Old Orchard Beach. Police and witnesses described a passing maneuver misread by the driver. an autopsy was performed at Webber Hospital with results pending. Woodman lived in the community 38 years and left a sister and a brother.

Pentagon studies effects of massive B52 raid in Vietnam

Brothers Drown at Pine Point in Scarborough River

Two elderly brothers Seth L. Gordon 64 and George K. Gordon 67, both of Gorham, died when their aluminum boat capsized near Pine Point in the Scarborough River mouth. Their brother Robert C. Gordon 51, also of Gorham, survived after clinging to the overturned craft for about 30 minutes. a passing boat rescued him.

Trial Stated In Still Case In Portland

Three men Samuel Rosencranz Frank Romano and Anthony DiPietro are set for retrial in U S District Court in the 1962 Scarborough case. Rosencranz and Romano are from Providence Rhode Island and DiPietro from Milford Massachusetts. The U S Circuit Court of Appeals vacated their sentences last year due to illegally seized evidence.
