Shark Hunters Find No Trace Off Kennebunk Beach
A four hour sea search led by Kennebunk Police Chief Frank Stevens and a team including Patrolman George Cousens and Paul Wormwood failed to locate sharks off Kennebunk Beach. They used a 36 foot Coast Guard craft from Fletcher's Neck with Chief Petty Officer Leonard Mullen at the helm, amid high winds and choppy seas. Local lobstermen suggested the sightings could be porpoises or blackfish. The hunt extended from Biddeford Pool to Wells with a Coast Guard report from Boston prompting the search aboard White Heath.
