Chi Chi Rodriguez Turns Focus to Golf After Comic Beginnings
Chi Chi Rodriguez once known as the tour’s biggest showman sharpened his game and earned 113000 in 1972. The Puerto Rico native, five feet seven and 120 pounds, taught himself golf, fashioned clubs from guava trees, and forged balls from tin cans while facing a serious childhood illness. He remains deeply religious and attributes much of his success to faith and hard work.
