Thornton Seniors Graduate One Hundred Twenty Six

Thornton academy held its 1960 commencement in Saco City hall with 126 graduates, led by speaker Edward Y. Blewett. The program featured a theme on Nuclear Energy, a Philharmonic performance, and diplomas awarded by William S. Linnell.

Japan Trip Canceled Over Threats To Eisenhower Visit

TOKYO AP President Eisen hower goodwill visit to Japan was canceled today amid Communist threats. The U S Japanese defense treaty remained in jeopardy as left wing protests and calls for cabinet resignation intensified. Prime Minister Kishi refused to dissolve Parliament, citing safety concerns and the need to protect alliance continuity despite mobs and pressure from Zengakuren.

Saco Lowell union seeks wage hike after contract termination notice
