Man Converts Lawn to Concrete but Creates Front Yard Lake

In Richmond British Columbia Curtis Eystone aimed to replace half an acre of lawn with a curved driveway and a bridge. A 21 ton truck caused the wooden bridge to collapse, leaking six tons of concrete and breaking a water main. Firefighters and cranes struggled as the truck slid deeper into the ditch. Neighbors watched as the driveways, fences, trees, and water lines were damaged, leaving a growing lake with no water to the house. Eystone and family relocated to a hotel while crews dig to the main about 170 feet away. The next meeting is set for September 13 with location to be announced.
