Thornton Academy Class of 1973 Graduates Listed

Over 230 Thorn ton Academy graduates received diplomas at a Sunday ceremony on the William Shepherd school campus. Headmaster James A Jort berg and Board president Dr Paul S Hill Jr presided. National Honor Society inductees included Judith N Anderson and Frederick C Blow Jr among many others.

Old Orchard Beach Teachers Association Declares Impasse

The Maine Teachers Association declares an impasse in contract talks with the Old Orchard Beach School Committee. An artifact finding session is set for July 10 at 9 30 a m in the high school library. Disputed items include dismissal procedures salaries sick leave and work day length. The association also selected a hearing officer for a grievance over a disparaging remark by a school committee member.
