Biddeford Catholic schools merge to form Maine's largest high school
The Most Rev. Pewr L. Gerey announced that St Andre's High School for Girls will cease separate operation in September. Its student body and several faculty will join St Louis High School, making it the state's largest Catholic high school. New area superintendent Sister Theresa Boucher and Rev. Lawrence DeBlois were named to lead St Louis Regional High School and area elementary schools. Enrollment at St Andre's was 110. St Louis now hosts 480 students. The consolidation was approved after a yearlong study by the State Department of Education.
