SEATTLE Wash AP The quiet assumption among Republicans at national committee meetings is that Gov Nelson A Rockefeller of New York will be the 1964 presidential nominee. Beyond upbeat talk of House gains and governors, hotel room chatter focuses on the potential field and who would oppose President Kennedy. Rockefeller appears the most likely to top the ticket unless unforeseen obstacles arise in re election. National Committeeman George L Hinman of New York says he seeks no commitments, only to learn state by state conditions.
