Wells Junior High held an awards assembly in the Wells Elementary auditorium. Students received scholastic certificates, two D. A. R. Good Citizenship awards, sports letters, cheerleading letters, and band and Glee club honors. Principal Russell K. Noyes urged tolerance and humility while presenting awards to seventh and eighth graders.

The Wells High School senior class now totals 14, up from 12, as Principal Russell K. Noyes notes. Miss Nancy Wentworth and Miss Sheila Stillings will study education at Gorham State Teachers College.
Kennebunk and Wells Ogunquit Lions clubs held a joint meeting at Howard Johnson in Kennebunk to arrange a Kennebunk town broom sale on Saturday June 10 at 1 pm with distributions in Wells Ogunquit on June 24. King Lion Arthur LeBlanc led the Kennebunk segment and G Maynard Trafton led Wells Ogunquit plans for a River Carnival pop scorn booth and a summer strawberry shortcake festival. The Wells club board meets June 12 at 8 pm at the Trafton home. members attending included Stanley Johnson Harold Fellman Samuel Stansfield Raymond Colby Albee LaPierre and Rev John Simpson. Music by Stanley Johnson on electric cord organ.
