MJA Baton Girls Win Trophies in Lisbon Contest
Six Marie Joseph Academy baton twirlers and teacher Sister M Camille traveled to Lisbon for a National Baton Twirling Association contest on May 26. Janice Jandreau of Caribou won first prize in solo, Carol Boissonneault of Biddeford earned third in solo, and the team won first prize. Other team members were Diana Goodwyn Long Island NY Rachel Ouellette Biddeford Denise Begin Lewiston and Chantal Dagnet Old Orchard Beach. A Memorial Day parade appearance in Biddeford marked new uniforms and a May coronation ceremony honored Mary with retiring sodality prefect Susan Lemieux. Field Day June 2 featured games dances baton routines and prizes.
