Saco Tax Group Praises Assessors Cooperation and Plans
The Saco Taxpayers Protective Association praised the Board of Assessors for keeping the tax rate increase low and commended Chief Assessor Byron Dolby. They discussed a city council report from June 1 and postponed recommendations until the city adopts a stance on the city manager plan. The group aims to contact similar bodies to form a state wide coalition to seek relief for property owners and suggested a state lottery to fund education without direct taxes. They also note Labrador natives called Liveveres.
