Saco Church To Mark 200th Anniversary In 1962 Observances

The First Parish Congregational church of Saco plans a year of observances and a rededication week from October 7 to 14 to celebrate two centuries of Congregationalism. Rev. Harry A. Rufiero leads a large anniversary committee with chairmen Mark B. Black and Joseph J. Stirling and collaborators from church groups. The church, a landmark at Beach and Route One, traces its roots to Pepperellborough in 1762 and 1663 building histories, with a project to collect papers photos and relics for a written church history.
