Wells High School captured the Southern York County League track championship, scoring 97 to York’s 68 and Kennebunk’s 60. Royal Prince Triumph At Saco Horse Show
Miss Linda Stackpole of Saco rode Royal Prince to championship at the Saco Valley Riding and Driving Club show on Smutty Lane. The event drew 78 horses from Maine and New Hampshire in 31 classes judged by Larry Felt, with series leading to a fall champions banquet. The Merchants Men's bowing league held its annual banquet at the Wonderbar Steak House. Forty bowlers and guests attended the affair that saw the Bagley’s Market teams crowned the 1963 64 champions. Archie's Variety grabbed the team total and single cash awards with 1639 and 596. Dick O'Brien took high average honors with 115 and Charlie Gillis had the high single 153. The Frank Reagan Memorial Trophy was won by Eddie St Onge and Ray Curlaron the Ralph Duchesne Memorial trophy in Class B. Nick Gillis served as master of ceremonies.

The Saco Pigeon Racers staged two long races from New York locations and a 100 mile event. 108 Saco birds entered the Weedsport race, Picard winning with 1089.25 yards per minute while Marcotte and Burdwood placed second and third. Bergeron led the St Johnville race with 1290.50 yards per minute and Marcotte followed closely. The 100 mile race saw Marcotte’s bird win among 209 entrants, earning a trophy and a diploma from the American Racing Pigeon Union.
