Fund Drive Planned by Biddeford Students for Family and Child Guidance
Meeting at Biddeford Junior High School organized a fundraising drive to support the Family and Child Guidance Association. TA and Biddeford High School councils lead a regional effort with Old Orchard Beach, Kennebunk and Sanford schools aiming for a $6,000 goal. A September 2 dance at Palace Ballroom Old Orchard Beach will raise proceeds, with Saperia as reservations chair, Sneider treasurer, Norma McAuley in publicity, and Lemovitz in charge of cleanup.

Irving Kallock of Saco Maine has built a $5000 antique pump collection from five states. The Saco Pump Co owner rebuilt most pumps and claims 90 percent work. The display includes Furber Co wooden pumps 1854 chain pumps gas engine pumps and manual water pumps. He plans to tour Maine agricultural fairs this year after a Rochester N H trial drew large crowds. He also found a nickel cigar vending machine from 1900 and sold a nickel cigar at the fair.
