Local Youths Stand Trial For Car Hubcap Theft

Six local youths appeared in Biddeford and Old Orchard Beach courts on stealing hubcaps valued at 144 dollars from cars in Old Orchard Beach. Two 15 year olds were found guilty by Recorder Gerald Nason in Biddeford Juvenile Court. They were sent to the State School for Boys at South Portland but the sentence was suspended and they were placed on probation.

Mayor Peter A. Garland of Saco asks Gov. Clinton A. Clauson to convene a special Legislature session to decide public transportation for parochial school children. X Ray Pioneer Faces 92nd Operation for Burns

CHICAGO AP A pioneering radiologist Dr. Emil H. Grube aged 84, once the first to apply X rays in cancer treatment, prepares for his 92nd operation for radiation burns and cancer from decades of early experiments. He has suffered extensive tissue damage and lost a portion of his hand and facial features. He recalls being burned by X rays in 1895 after working with Crookes tubes and notes he taught radiology techniques to more than 7,000 doctors.
