Noise Doctors Try To Cure Airport Noise With Home Relief
Los Angeles officials pilot a $300,000 program insulating 25 nearby homes to reduce jet noise from LAX as part of a first of its kind test. A three sided glass bush house will host engines at full blast to gauge noise impact while soundproofing measures include roof and wall renovations, new doors, double windows, vibration dampers, and upgraded floors to ease community tension and lawsuits tied to decades of aviation noise.
