Cohen Hearings End, Judge Considers Bond Block ruling

After an all day hearing on Herman Cohen's five suits against SAD 71 the Superior Court Justice Sumner Goffin indicated a possible ruling within two weeks. The cases seek to block or restrain the $5.2 million school construction bonds amid challenges to reallocation and the Jan 22 referendum warrant. Goffin left the matter unsettled noting no issuance until developments occur. Attorneys for both sides prepared briefs due Feb 7 with a tentative judgment date around Feb 12. The judge stated separate handling for each suit and potential bond posting as security if Cohen prevails on a restraining order.
