Enough Valid Signatures For OOB Recall
In OLD ORCHARD BEACH enough signatures were collected to recall Town Councilors St Hilaire Marshall Lee Sr and Morin over the suspension of Town Manager Rita Belair. Petitions filed Jan 17 show revalidation thresholds near 790 signatures with about 4500 gathered by 30 volunteers led by John Bird and Michael Ruess. The council has 10 days to set a date for a recall election within 30 to 60 days. if not Maine Supreme Court Justice may order it.

Pur suant to its finance committee, SAD 71 adopts a six month budget of 1 167 316 for Jan 1 to Jun 30. The board plans a July 1 to June 30 fiscal year to align with state and federal funding and to simplify reporting.
