Soldier Sends Unprotected Egg By Mail
Carrier Lawrence Peake found an unprotected egg in a city mailbox, stamped with 11 cents postage though the weight required more. The egg was dropped into the box and shielded by other mail. Wright at Fort Knox said he would try to pick up the egg this weekend if he gets a pass.

Safety Program Begins in Saco Extension Campaign
In cooperation with the All State Foundation and other groups the Saco Extension started a highway safety campaign. Miss Marion Banks outlined plans to improve traffic courts safety education schools driving courses signs signals and pedestrian and driver protection. Civic groups are urged to participate with programs and available speakers and slides before the vacation season.
