In June 1893 Thornton Academy faced a crowded ticket scramble for 744 seats at Saco City Hall. A night-long line formed, disputes arose, and officers intervened as the sale opened at 7:30 am and all seats were sold by 8:20 am for the graduation attended by 744 people.

Soviet Seaman Charged in Space Center Espionage Plot
Ivan N. Rogalsky 34 of Jackson Township New Jersey was arrested in Newark linked to a conspiracy to obtain highly classified RCA Space Center Princeton documents and pass them to a Soviet official at the United Nations. He was held at Bergen County Jail awaiting arraignment before a U S magistrate.
