Kennebunkport Conceptualist Debuts At The Gate
Nathaniel Smart of Kennebunkport presents his first one man show at Portland's The Gate starting Jan 8. He mounts rusting ship augers on pine boards with copper, calls the piece Family I, and includes items like old cap canes, an 1863 Civil War newspaper titled The War Mongers, and sickles among weathered backgrounds. The exhibition runs through Jan 28.
