Four Nixon aides convicted in Watergate trial verdict

A federal jury convicted former Attorney General John Mitchell and ex White House aides H R Haldeman and John Ehrlichman of conspiracy obstruction of justice and other charges in the Watergate cover up case. Former Atty. Gen. Robert Mardian was also convicted, while Kenneth Parkinson was acquitted. The verdicts came after a lengthy trial and were followed by appeals threats from the defendants.

Theophilus Tutfy Fitanides sworn in as an assistant district attorney for York County faces charges of speeding failure to stop and assault on a police officer. He was arrested by Biddeford police after a 49 mph in a 25 zone incident ending with an alleged face punching in Arundel. The case is being prosecuted by the state attorney general due to a conflict of interest and is expected to be continued.

Sugar prices fell up to 50 cents per five pound bag, butter dropped in some cities, while Biddeford posted a 0.7 percent rise and Presque Isle 14 percent.
