South Viet Nam reports an attempted bombing of President Ngo Dinh Diem's palace by two air force officers acting independently. One pilot was captured after dawn raid. the other, Lt Pham Quoc, was captured alive as troops guard streets. A second pilot Nguyen Van Cu was also captured. Funds Drive Aims To Lure Grafton Lumber To Biddeford

Peter Victor 69 of Saco halts his lifelong Luncheon and Spa business at 226 Main Street Biddeford after 54 years in two Maine cities. He started in 1907 with a fruit and ice cream shop in Saco and sold the Biddeford Spa to John Chenard and Richard Dougherty.
