Barrett Cleared By HRC

Kennebunk town manager Kenneth Barrett has been cleared of sex discrimination charges after a seven month investigation by the state Human Rights Commission. The report found no probable cause for sex discrimination in Barrett’s refusal to hire Donna Jude, wife of a police officer, as a police reserves member. The investigator noted possible marital status discrimination and advised Mrs. Jude to pursue a federal civil suit if she chooses. Barrett plans to draft a comprehensive town hiring policy.

Judge rules SAD 71 properly constituted in school bond case
