Eastport Men Drown When Car Flips Into Bay
Two Eastport men, Frederick T. Emery 27 and Peter W. Hooper, drowned when their car careened from a municipal pier into Passamaquoddy Bay. Police said moisture on the pier and speeding over the 10 mph limit caused the plunge. One body was recovered 100 yards from the edge. the second, inside the car later pulled from 30 to 40 feet of water.
