Biddeford Mayor Willie Pomerleau said the 240000 bond issue will not be needed as the city ends the year in the black with 117008.95 cash and 18000 receivables from school subsidies. The city will use these to cover 1962 county tax and two fire trucks, reducing the inherited tax anticipation debt to 120000.

Snow Warning Across New England From Storm

Weather Bureau issued heavy snow warnings for Maine New Hampshire and Vermont and western Massachusetts after the first widespread overnight snowfall.
