Soviet Russians Rival Methodists In Kabylie Village
In central Algeria the Methodist Church led by Rev John Paolini and his wife Mari lyn counter a Soviet camp pushing communism. The Russians build a model farm village near Zeouin with a school and hospital, while Paolini runs a library and church services in French and Kabylie. The pastor teaches French and English to Algerians, and churchgoers mix Bible tales with Koran readings in a tense cultural exchange.
