Saco Valley Shopping Center to Rise in Saco

The Shaw Firm Canal Bank will occupy center buildings in a new Saco shopping complex named the Saco Valley Shopping Center. Work began today on the site between Spring and Scammon Streets, formerly the Deering Lumber Co. A 20,000 square foot retail outlet is planned with a 500-car parking area and landscaped surroundings. Dunn Couple Feted On 50th Anniversary

The golden anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. William Dunn of 35 Thornton Ave Saco was celebrated at the Biddeford Saco Lodge of Elks on Portland Road. A social reception followed by a buffet supper opened the evening with prayers by Rev. Arthur St Pierre. Members organized by Mrs. Robert Boisvert and others assisted, with a Muskie letter read by Mrs. Rene Roy. A long list of attendees is noted, including family and friends.
