Beach Corporation To Appeal Machine Seizure
OLD ORCHARD BEACH An IRS raid seized ten gambling machines from One Old Orchard St Inc saying they lacked the 250 tax stamp required by federal law. The owner claims inspectors said a 10 tax stamp sufficed since prizes never exceed 1. Other seizures included York Beach Amusement Corp and Jenny Stationford. Investigations will decide possible charges with U.S. Attorney Alton Lessard. No one armed bandits were found. most machines were digger or rotary types used at summer spots.
