Rock festival at Bethel draws huge
Bill Casavant recalls the Wood stock Music and Arts Festival near Bethel New York last weekend drawing about 400000 young attendees. Campsites spread across hillsides cemeteries and lawns with six mile camping radius and no major trouble. Local Orthodox Jewish community supplied water and food while National Guard monitored and helped keep order. Messages against bad LSD circulated from the stage as crowds wandered freely enjoying bands like Canned Heat and Blood Sweat and Tears amid mud and communal sharing.

Trees For Saco Group Sets Goal A
The Trees for Saco committee announced a $12 000 goal to replace 1 200 diseased elms with 8 to 10 foot shade trees at $10 each.
