Biddeford Couple Celebrates 65 Years of Marriage

Mr and Mrs Nat eon Sylvestre of 98 South Street Biddeford marked their 65th wedding anniversary at home after marrying at St Joseph Church on August 13 1895 The couple who moved from Canada in youth raised nine children 25 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren The Sylvestres son Gary Louis was born at Webber Hospital to Mr and Mrs Philippe Nadeau of Green Street Biddeford The parents both enjoyed carpentry and crochet and their children include Cyriacide Armand Romeo Roland Edmund all of Biddeford with other children in New Britain Connecticut and Westbrook Maine

Beach Manager Gets Warrant Over Lustful Playing Cards

Old Orchard Beach town officials, led by Manager Wardwell, obtained a warrant from Associate Judge William F. Wilson Jr. against Myer Molko for selling a pack of 52 lust illustrated playing cards. Molko was released on $50 bail as the case continued. Wardwell said he would pursue similar warrants against other local businesses over summer complaints about card and radio sales.

Alfred J. Mondor Jr., 46, of 09 Pierson Lane Biddeford, announces his candidacy for mayor. A former Saco city auditor 1950 to 1954 he says he runs on a non machine ticket while remaining a Democrat at heart. He criticizes the current administration and cites relocation of Raytheon to Lewiston and surplus city staffing.
