Bean And Ham Supper Slated For Wednesday
A public baked bean and ham supper is planned for Wednesday August 14 at 6 p.m. in the Wells Congregational Church parish house near Wells Corner. Dessert will feature homemade pies. The Congo Women's group sponsors the event with Mrs. David L Angell as general chairman and assistants Mrs. Ray V. Chase, Mrs. Charles F. MacDonald Sr., Mrs. Millicent Goodwin, and Mrs. Maude Averill.

Saco Center to Be Ferry Beach Guest
Members of Saco Adult Center will visit Ferry Beach Park Association from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow hosted by Robert E. Knights of the Unitarian Universalist Church. The program features shuffleboard, cards, a group sing led by Miss Donna Hurd, and a talk on the association’s origins. If rain occurs the event moves to Gardner Stage beside the Quillen Hotel. The bowling group meets Friday at Roll-A-Way Lanes in Biddeford.

Man Sentenced In York County Court For Shoplifting
Armand Goulet of Biddeford was sentenced to 30 days in York County Jail after a guilty verdict in Saco's 10th District Court for stealing $4.81 worth of food from Martin's Foods. The report lists numerous other defendants with fines, jail terms, or dismissals for assorted offenses including assault, intoxication, speeding, license issues, and larceny.
