Fortune telling flourishes among Saigon’s faithful crowd
In Saigon, a 23-year-old fortune teller Tran Thi Kim and veteran seer Minh Huong draw Buddhist and Catholic clients. They use palmistry cards flowers and even an embalmed Laotian head to reveal character past and fate. Officials and even the prime minister’s wife reportedly visit the stalls for guidance.

Volunteers Needed For Lewis Telethon In Maine Area
Hundreds of volunteers are urged to assist with the New Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon in Portland Saco Auburn and Augusta. Claude St Pierre of Portland leads the Maine Chapter of Muscular Dystrophy Associations of America and says volunteers are needed to answer phones tally figures and help during the 20 hour show. The telethon airs in Portland on WGAN TV Channel 13 with Lewis hosting and pickups from New York Las Vegas Hollywood and Nashville. The event will be broadcast on more than 150 stations regionally and beyond with last year raising over 9.2 million dollars for muscular dystrophy research and care.
