Half Of Draftees Will Be Rejected

Washington AP reports that in 1964 about 47 percent of draftees passed pre induction exams while 53 percent were rejected. Of those rejected 22.2 percent failed medical tests 16.2 percent failed mental tests 11.4 percent were limited by training ability 1.5 percent failed both medical and mental standards and 1.7 percent were disqualified for administrative reasons.

Crippled Canberra Bomber Crashes Into Viet Nam City

A U S Air Force B57 Canberra bomber, crippled and derelict, crashed on a main street in Nha Trang killing at least 12 Vietnamese civilians. Four American and 63 Vietnamese were injured as four bombs exploded and debris blocked streets. Crew bailed out safely before the fuel-fed explosion.

Analysis North Viet Nam Air Strikes Fall Short of Aims
