Fire destroys historic Ogunquit restaurant in predawn blaze

Seven Ogunquit firemen were injured battling a predawn fire that leveled the Whistling Oyster Restaurant and Gift Shop, the oldest Perkins Cove building. Firemen arrived around 4 a.m. as crews from neighboring towns assisted. Interior collapsed while walls facing the road remained. Cause under investigation.
