Obituary of Joseph L Labelle at Goodwins Mills

Joseph Lucien Labelle 54 died Friday night at Togus VA Hospital after a life in Biddeford and Goodwins Mills. He served in World War II and worked at Saco Lowell Shops. Survived by wife Pauline and daughter Helen Levigne, plus siblings, stepchildren, seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral home arrangements announced with viewing hours.

Punishment Fit for False Fire Alarm Youth Sentenced

A 16 year old in Rockland Maine admitted turning in a false fire alarm and was sentenced by Judge Paul A MacDonald to 10 Saturday mornings of work at the local fire station. The youth must perform any tasks the fire chief assigns.

Jobless Rate Dips in Maine For March

Maine unemployment fell to 9.5 percent in March with 40,300 workers out of jobs. The State Department of Manpower Affairs reported the rate down from February and compared to 11.7 percent a year earlier in 1975, marking ongoing improvement in the job market.

Choral Society to Sing at South Church Service

About 40 members of the Rockingham Choral Society will perform at 11 a.m. worship in Port Kennebunkport. They sing Mozart Coronation Mass and selections from Frostiana by Randall Thompson.
