Jan Scott Is Polished Set Designer

Jan Scott nets a rare spotlight as NBC drama set designer on The Shark and The Legend of Lylah Clare. From building a 40 foot rising staircase with hidden cameras to calibrating weight and safety factors, she crafts sets that serve the plot and avoid distracting viewers. A native of Carbondale Illinois, she trained at the Chicago Art Institute and the University of Chicago and has shaped designs for The Dinah Shore Show Peter Pan Hall of Fame and Dave Garroway shows. Tonight she appears in a profile accompanying CBS Portrait at 7 30 EST.
