Elementary and secondary teachers from York county converge in Kennebunk for the York County Teachers association convention. The general session at 9 a.m. will be led by President Carroll B. Saco Man Selected for U S Trade Mission to Poland

George D. Love of 121 North Street Saco is named to a four man trade mission to Poland by the U S Department of Commerce. He will depart Washington May 15 by jet for London Amsterdam and Warsaw and tour Poland from May 19 to June 7 in embassy furnished cars meeting workers executives and officials to discuss production problems.

TV Theft Reported At Beach

A theft at the Surfside cabins in Old Orchard Beach reports four televisions stolen from a storehouse. Copper tubing was torn from cabins on East Grand Avenue. Police Chief Er nest Murphy leads the investigation after James Walker, owner, discovered the season opening. The incident likely occurred during winter.

Port Man New Plant Manager F. Davis Little

Kennebunkport resident F Davis Little has been named plant manager of the former Saco Lowell buildings now owned by the Community Development Corporation. Little will supervise maintenance and advise on technical details to prepare the facilities for future tenants. He previously worked for Saco Lowell as an engineer. Efforts to dispose of the foundry as a unit continue, with ads placed nationally and several inquiries received.

Freud grandson Lucian Freud divorced from Caroline Blackwood

In Los Angeles lifelong writer Caroline Blackwood Freud, 27, was granted a default divorce from Lucian Freud, 35, the famed portrait artist. Blackwood testified his lack of concern for their marriage's fate. The couple wed in 1953 in London.

Biddeford Board Approves 22-Acre School Site Purchase

The Biddeford Board of Education approved buying 22 acres bounded by South Main and Highland streets for a new high school near the former Saco-Lowell athletic field. Owners Alfred S Bradford Thomas Simpson and Warren Thompson seek 20000 dollars. City council must approve. Mayor Deschambault plans a land inspection May 3.
