Lobsterman Case Prepares For Franchise of Ocean Crime Trial
In Newport Rhode Island First District Court will hear a case involving H Thorby of Mattapoisett charged with possessing 44 female egg bearing lobsters. URI biologists work with state officials to determine if eggs were brushed at sea as wardens allege. Conviction could bring a 5 dollar per lobster fine and seizure of illegal catch.
