Beverly Aadland Test By Lie Detector In Hollywood
Beverly Aadland, 17, took a lie detector test as homicide detectives pursue an intensive probe into the death of William Stanciu. Aadland alleges Stanciu, a suitor, menaced her with a revolver, raped her, then shot himself in her Hollywood apartment. Stanciu died Sunday at General Hospital on suspicion of rape on his 21st birthday. Aadland's mother, Florence Radland, was hospitalized. Aadland remains at Juvenile Hall awaiting a hearing on parental supervision requirements.

Man barricades in bungalow fires at police in Va
Pulaski AP report describes a 19 year old man Jack Jennings barricading in a bin bungalow for 17 hours then firing at police and newsmen while threatening harm to his 10 year old sister in law. He forced Barbara Butts to accompany him and sent a note attached to an arrow demanding a conference. Police pursued him as reporters came under fire and hindered by pellets from a struck tree. The siege ended without major injuries.

Grass fires burn over an acre in Biddeford area
Fire fighters from Biddeford and Old Orchard Beach battled grass fires yesterday afternoon. The Biddeford field owned by Albert Elwell and a nearby field by the brook along Smith Wheel Road in Old Orchard Beach were affected. Both departments said these were the first grass fires of the year. The Sacire department reported no calls for grass fires so far this year. Meanwhile national politics reported: Kennedy movement talk flared in West Virginia as Humphrey’s aid might back the senator in the May 10 primary. in New York Governor Rockefeller opposed circulating a letter questioning Nixon’s qualifications.
