Thank You Parade Planned by Biddeford St. Vincent Band

The St. Vincent School Band plans a Sunday thank you parade and concert in Biddeford to thank residents of Biddeford and Saco for supporting their trip to New York City for St. Patrick’s Day. The route starts at St. Joseph’s Parish Hall, proceeds along South Street and Jefferson, then Main Street to Alfred Street before returning. A concert and film show will follow at no charge.

West Point Pepperell Offer Called Inadequate by Union

The Textile Workers Union of America says West Point Pepperell’s 1966 69 wage proposal is inadequate. They cite 3.1 percent and 3.5 percent raises in 1967 and 1968 that failed to keep pace with 6.6 percent price increases, leaving real wages eroded. Biddeford Official Voices Tax Concession Concerns

Biddeford's new industrial development agent Samuel Michael told the Saco Business Men's Association during the annual Ladies Night Dinner that tax concessions to attract industry are frowned upon.
