Herb Ingraham, 64, a retired U S Army Lt Col, lives in Greene and remains active as a teacher. He has taught in Hollis and Brunswick High School, led college courses in Korea, organized the Tokyo area American school system, taught ROTC at the University of Maine, headed Army Reserve training in Raleigh area, and directed the Army history at Boston University. While in Korea he helped 40 000 soldiers complete fourth grade courses in 16 months, and in Japan set up the American school system for dependents and diplomats. He now teaches accelerated mathematics and chemistry at Walton Junior High in Auburn and plans to stay in classrooms with students.
