Washington AP: American Ambassador to Moscow Llewellyn Thompson said Berlin situation news in recent days seems encouraging. He commented on the changing mood as tensions continue to unfold.
A public hearing on the failure of Sealer of Weights and Measures Leon Jones of Old Orchard Beach to perform his duties is set for Monday night at the Old Orchard Beach Town Hall. The hearing follows a petition signed by 55 residents, with the town council meeting slated for the same evening and the state sealer of weights and measures invited to attend.
A Rome newspaper alleges a rearranged cast in the Eddie Fisher Elizabeth Taylor dispute. It claims Richard Burton is a decoy in the affair while Liz Taylor loves director Joseph Mankiewicz, who feigns affection for Burton as cover. Northeast Airlines, Boston, says it retains a sizable Florida travel market share despite financial difficulties and stiff competition from Eastern and National. FBI sources say most airline bomb hoaxes over the past six years were by mature, often well connected individuals acting as perverted practical jokers.
