Biddeford dance studio marks 10 years of teaching
Caroline Varney, owner of The Academy of Dance with husband Warwick, celebrates a decade in Biddeford. The studio has grown from a small start to about 150 registered students last year, teaching children teens and some adults while passing on a love of dance to Varney’s six children, including Catherine and Elisabeth. Varney, born in England and raised in South Africa, settled on River Road to share her art with the community.

Biddeford notices curbside recycling violators
Biddeford reports strong initial take up for curbside recycling with higher than expected recycling rates and lower trash reduction goals. Yet violations persist as residents mix overflow trash with recyclables and rely on orange bags sold for 1.50 to 2.00 dollars. 532 complaints have been reviewed since July 22 by the Code Enforcement Office, with warnings issued via container stickers.
