Volunteers sought to survey endangered species crossings
Maine Audubon seeks southern Maine volunteers to survey roads for endangered and threatened species including New England cottontail, black racer, Blanding's turtle, and spotted turtle. Volunteers will monitor signs of crossings, report movements, and help identify high population areas to guide mitigation with the Maine DOT. Currently 12 volunteers cover York and Cumberland counties with more needed in Biddeford areas.

Scarborough Marsh spring cleanup set for April 26
The Scarborough Marsh spring cleanup will be held Saturday April 26 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center Route 9. Volunteers of all ages welcome with check in at the center. Donations support Project G R A C E and the local food pantry. Organizers include Friends of Scarborough Marsh Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center Together Green Town of Scarborough Higgins Beach Association and others. The Ossipee Mountain ATV Club hosts its fourth annual ATV Jamboree on April 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at MX207 track 53 Bartletts Bridge Road Lyman featuring mud bogging drag racing rodeo style barrel racing and a relay event.

Huot honored in Old Orchard Beach annual report
Old Orchard Beach honors Lucien Huot in the 2012 13 annual report noting his death on January 1, 2013. A lifelong town supporter he sang the National Anthem at ballpark games and events and served on multiple town boards and committees. His son David recalls his father loved public discussion and valued others opinions.
